Rested--Somewhat ; )

Well, I have to admit I have enjoyed not having to worry about doing a post every day.

I managed to get a lot done this week. I can't believe Christmas will be here in a little over two weeks--a lot of the shopping is done. Kyle keeps changing his mind--he wanted an electric guitar, but now he's not sure. Sadly, though, none of the gifts are wrapped!!! Can't wrap them and then take them across the border.

Our Stake decided to do Nativity displays in the buildings this year. I was in charge of the one in our building. Not much of a turn out--other than a couple of people. But hopefully as it grows people will become more interested. Here are a couple of the photos.

My house looks and feels like Christmas--I love it!!! I decided this year to put some of my nativities in my curio cabinet. I love how it looks--but can't seem to get a good picture. I also have one on the piano and one above my fireplace.

And, not only does the house look like Christmas, it REALLY looks like Christmas outside--it has been snowing like crazy--AND WOW IS IT COLD!!!

Finally, congratulations to my granddaughter, Amanda, who got engaged on Friday. We are very happy for her. So we'll have a wedding of our grandson, Chris, in Texas in May and then Amanda's wedding will follow in Utah this summer.

Oh, isn't Christmas wonderful?! We are supposed to get snow this week and I know that will really make everything all holiday-ish. Congratulations to your grandkids. Marriage, to the right person, is a wonderful thing. Have a great week!♥

One year (before 9/11) I wrapped all my Christmas presents that I was giving away and then packed them in my suitcase. I got chosen for a random bag search and had to unwrap every single present. In front of everyone. It was so embarrassing, and I kind of felt like I was ruining Christmas.

My youngest, Melody already snooped in my closet and found a bag of Christmas gifts. It was under an entire collection of laundry and assorted other items.

She's so persistent. I don't if I should scold her or reward her tenacity.

The church down the street had a LIVE nativity scene and an old Jerusalem-styled marketplace along with pumped-in snow and donkey/camel rides.

It was all fun and games......until I stepped in camel poop.

My house is decked out without boughs of holly (tra la la la la la la) no thanks to me.

It's nice to have older kids who are so completely motivated to fill the house with Christmas that they take it upon themselves to make it happen.

You did a great job on the gratitude posts. I had to bail out. :) Too much time and pressure. :) I am so very thankful for many things and hope I express that year round. You did so wonderfully - each one took time and thought.

I love nativity scenes! I try to buy a new one each year!

Weddings re wonderful! Congratulations to them!

I remember how much effort I put into the "Emergency Preparedness Fair" at our building - and not very many people showed up, outside of our Ward membership. And we didn't have the cold weather to deal with, either. No matter who showed up, it was the RIGHT thing to do...and the blessings will come from that.

Loving the Christmas season.

ps. people are probably worried that something will happen to their nativity sets... or they want them on display in their homes... especially if they just have one or two.

I woke up to a winter wonderland today, which makes it finally feel a lot more like Christmas. Too bad I'm too sick to enjoy it. (There is a bad bug that ran through the high school over the weekend. 1/3 of Aly's class was vomiting and other things. I was unfortunate enough to catch it. :p)

There is a stake in that town 1/2 hour south of here that does nativities every Christmas. It has gotten HUGE over the years. Almost every room in the building is bursting with them. There is refreshments in the cultural hall and choirs and music in the chapel. It runs for almost a week right after Thanksgiving. Be patient and word will get out and the people will come.

I collect nativities too. I have about 13 of various kinds. LOVE THEM!!!

I'm so glad that you started doing a Nativity Exhibit! I saw your comment on my post, and I would love to share all the input and knowledge I have about it. Great job!

I don't even have a Nativity set. I keep meaning to get one, but my kids are kind of destructive.
I thought about getting a Fisher Price Little People Nativity, but didn't get around to it this year...maybe next year I will get one for Baby B.
