Let's Get Ready to Rumble--I Mean Ramble

  • First off, we weren't "empty nesters" this weekend--Kyle's trip to Minneapolis was cancelled last Friday due to poor weather. Poor guy, I know he was really looking forward to the trip. The sad part was this was the 2nd year in a row he didn't get to make the trip--last year they cancelled because there were not enough kids going.

  • We may have had to spring forward this weekend, but it sure doesn't feel like Spring. When the alarm went off this morning, I didn't think the clock could possibly be right!!!! When Kyle and I got to Seminary, I realized the youth must have had the same problem--all of them were late, some VERY LATE.

  • I have decided it is time to clean out Heidi's room. Hey, she left to go to BYU some 7 years ago and has only been back for short periods of time, i.e., Christmas break, so I figured it was time to clean out her closet, etc. What a job.

  • Kyle's excited and can't wait to clean out his room--I guess that will be our project over Spring break the end of the month. I think he's pretty excited about going to school. I think he'll find summer will go by pretty quickly.

  • In April when Brent comes home for a couple of weeks we'll clean out his room.

  • We have our Scripture Mastery Challenge with the Stake Leaders on Saturday.  I think the kids are ready.  They amaze me at how good they are at memorizing.  I told them we will get back to playing more game type things on Scripture Mastery day.  I bought a fun plastic gun thing that I can't wait for them to use.  And, of course, in honor of March Madness we will do some basketball things.

  • Speaking of March Madness, I can't wait for the games to start ; )

  • I feel like it's time to make some changes. Cutting back on blogging will be part of it. It seems like so many people are not blogging as much--so many are more into Facebook. Neal and I were talking about how different they are. I like blogging because it's like journalling for me--if I want to remember something I did, I just go back into the archives. Facebook is just a nice way to stay in touch with people.

    Have a great day.

I think the reason I don't blog as much lately, is because my twins turned 2 a few months ago, and it's getting harder to keep up with them and their expanding 'interests.' ;-)

But I much prefer blogging over Facebook. Probably because I like writing, rather than games or chatting.

Anyway. Sorry about Kyle's trip, what a bummer! :-(

Good luck with all the room cleaning!

I still just don't get facebook!
Oh well.
You're probably right though, about the blogging time. There are so many other things to do!!

I love blogging, but it's taking way too much time away from productive things like painting rooms or scrapbooking. :P

By only posting every four or five days, at least I can make time to get around and visit everybody that comments to me. I'm thinking of going even six days between posts.

I'm with you...I like blogging because it's my journal. Facebook may be getting more and more popular, but I'm not at all interested! :)

Hey, it's nice not to be comment 17 for once! ;)

You're right, it was tough with Daylight Savings Time this morning. Ugh! I hope tomorrow goes a little better!

I don't do Facebook either. I much prefer Blogger.

Please come and check out my Blog to see the cool project that I have been working on! :)

I totally deleted my facebook.

Didn't like it at all.

So it's blogging for me... although I notice so many are hardly posting anything anymore.

I'm going to miss reading your blog when you cut back on posting! But I can understand that change needs to happen!

I'll miss out on the Scripture Mastery Challenge on Saturday! I'll be in the kitchen helping make dinner! Oh well...I hope the youth win this time. I kinda felt bad when they didn't in Nov.!

Have fun with March Madness! I know you love it! :)

I'm guilty. Facebook has taken front seat.

Sorry Kyle missed his trip:(

Enough winter, come on spring!

I really enjoy your blog. You have a nice following too, always good comments:)

I like both.

I have just learned to do blogging a bit more moderately. I don't comment as much in return not as many people comment on mine but that is okay because I had to realize I do it for me.

Facebook is fun to check once a day. I just stay away from all the games, requests (except new friends), etc. I have never regretted meeting all the people I have through both!

But when all their rooms are cleaned out won't you feel just a little bit sad?

I am in "clean out" mode myself lately. My friend is taking a home staging class and she's going to us my clutter as a project so that's what I'm doing for spring break too.

I've cut down to once or twice a week for blogging and am using facebook to keep in touch with my friends. It's a quicker and easier I think.

I prefer blogging. I prefer reading blogs, too. I like face book for catching up with old friends.

I need to do some cleaning out. We've got dust from finishing the basement collecting everywhere.

So sad about Kyle's trip. He'll love BYU. Has he decided what he will major in?

I make time for both Facebook and my blog. I blog when I have something to write about and I definitely use Facebook to catch up on all my old highschool friends and former YW. Both are fun for me. But if I had to choose between the two, blog will win. No doubt.

Good luck with all the cleaning. With the cold, yucky weather... what else is there to do? :)

I feel the same way about blogging and I like it so much better than facebook. Good luck with the clean ups! I need to do those too!
I am hoping the old adage rings true - In like a lion - out like a lamb! I am ready for Spring!
Don't cut back too much blogging a I would really miss you!!

I'm sorry about Kyle's trip! That's too bad that he didn't get to go...
As for the time change - I hate it. My kids struggled so much to get out of bed this morning. I actually prefer daylight savings, but I wish they'd just leave the time alone!
It sounds like you are doing a lot of cleaning out! When you're done, do you want to come and help me? :)
Do you have a favorite team you're rooting for in March Madness? I'm trying to remember from last year... it seems like you're a fan, but I'm drawing a blank!
As for blogging... I feel like I'm in a rut! I just can't come up with things to write about. My brain feels like it's moving through sludge... but I'm going to try and blog in the next couple of days :) I do like Facebook though for word games!

I started blogging to keep in touch with my family while we're on our mission. It is my journal. I love reading other blogs and yours is one of my top favorites. I will be sad to not have your blogs to read because you always have good insights, have interesting things to say, and you write well.

I just got on FB about two months ago and I am having a blast reconnecting with old friends I haven't talked to in over 30 years. So it has been fun. BUT, it takes some time away from blogging, which I already spend WAY too much time on! I have cut back on reading others blogs which I have decided is NOT good. I miss reading everyone's daily stuff. As far as people not blogging as much, I haven't felt that...it seems I can't keep up EVER with all the posts I want to read that others have written. I feel the need to cut back on the computer no matter what it is for...PERIOD. I can't believe how much I depend on it for everything! Not good I know!

I'm with you--I definitely prefer blogging over FB. I have an account, and I have enjoyed catching up with people I probably wouldn't have otherwise, but blogging is still my #1!!

I think I might delete my facebook page. I really just don't get it.

My posts are getting so sporadic and I want to fit in more blogging but i'm just not finding the time. Love reading your posts though!

Thanks for the card and bookmark in the mail! It was a pleasant surprise.

Facebook is great as a database of friends (especially their birthdays, which I'm terrible at), and if it's set to pirate language, well, then it's actually useable... ;) but I like reading blogs much much more. As you know I don't write very often though... and I wouldn't keep track of any blogs if it wasn't for the feed-reader! that's one of the best internet inventions so far :) So, feel free to write more seldom, but please don't stop altogether!

Facebook is fun, but so is reading your blog! So promise to keep it up? Oh and totally add me as a friend on FB! ;)

I hate this time change. It always takes me a good month to get used to it. On the other hand, my little boys sleep an extra hour in the morning--not a bad trade off!

I'm sorry Kyle's trip got cancelled, again! :(
I love going through my bedroom and cleaning it all out. Now I get to go through our second bedroom and get it all ready for the baby! That is going to be quite the task!

I haven't been blogging quite as much. I guess I'm still posting but not making the rounds to other blogs as much. Facebook is almost addicting. I may have to back off of that too!

speaking of cleaning out rooms and closets... that is on my list this week and I haven't started!!!
