WE'RE BACK

Well, actually I'm back--Allan flew home on Saturday and then left yesterday to go to Salt Lake. I got home last night. He will be back on Thursday. Then we're here for a couple of weeks.

The cruise was great. I have to say I expected it to be warmer--sounds silly coming from someone who left snow. LA was lovely but when we got on the ship on Saturday and had the two sea days, those days were kind of cool. Once we got into Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlan, and Cabo--the weather was quite warm--actually hot! I loved it. We saw lots of whales. I really should have done a whale watching trip, but too many other things to do. One day when I was out sitting on the balcony getting some sun there were so many little dolphins jumping. I could never get a good picture.

I've basically written all about Puerto Vallarta and Mazatlan, but haven't said too much about Cabo. We were very surprised when we went into Cabo. The last time we were there was 1999--wow, have things changed since then. It was so much prettier than I remembered. While we were in Cabo my sweet little hubby bought me this beautiful necklace and earrings. He's such a sweetie.

The rest of the cruise was packing and getting ready to come home. I even did laundry. It is funny on a 7 day cruise, most people don't do laundry, but I just wanted to get underwear done so Allan didn't have to come home and worry about it.

I'll write about my stop in California in my next post. I so enjoyed spending time with these guys (and their parents, too)

I managed to get up this morning for Seminary. I bought the kids some fun little souvenirs. I got the boys some funny little drum things and the girls a little trinket box. It was great to be back with them. We talked about Psalms this morning--so glad I got through all 150 of them while on the cruise ; ) I had 4 books with me on the cruise--did read part of one of them "Eat, Love, Pray", but really spent the majority of my time studying Old Testament. It was great to have time to really talk with Allan about a lot of our lessons.

Sidenote #!:
I've just got to ask--do these look like the faces of great grandparents??? Well, we are going to have our first great grandchild sometime in October.

Sidenote #2: Hey, if you want to watch Kyle's band performing at the Battle of the Bands, go to YouTube and watch them at: http://youtube.com/watch?v=UOshzSaQcHs&feature=related He is on the right--and has a solo at about 1:25

selfishly speaking... I'm so glad you are back! But I'm also glad you had a nice time.
We've done (what sounds like) that same cruise with the same stops. It was fun and relaxing.
I like Cabo-- my little sister was married there last year and we had a great time and spent the whole week in Cabo. So much to do there and the ocean is so beautiful.
I really hope you had a nice time with Allan. That is so important!

Great grandparents?? whaaaa? Well, great grandparents or not, you are definitely the hottest one! :)

YAY!! You're back. I'm glad you had a nice, fun, safe trip. The way this winter is holding on, I'm sure you enjoyed putting your coat away for a few days.

I lived on the Oregon Coast for a few years and one of my favorite things to do w/ my daughter was sitting on the coast and watching whales. I was even lucky enough to see one swimming at the base of a cliff that I was on. It was close enough that I could watch the blow hole open and close. It was amazing.

I'll look forward to reading about your CA trip.

Not even, you look way too young!!!
Your trip sounds so wonderful Yvonne. I'm glad you had such a great time. The grandchildren are all so pretty!
I know boys don't like to be called pretty, but I can't help it... I tell Bailey he is pretty too. :)

It looks and sounds like you had a fun little vacation.

Hey....I think that's a picture of two great looking grandparents. Isn't life funny now? When I was a kid none of us had a great grandparent. And now so many of even my friends are. And I'm only 60ish. Big on the "only". :)

Sounds like it was a great vacation! I must say, I am impressed that you read so much of your scriptures. And you brought back souveniers, that was such a cute idea too, I bet they loved that.
I love that last picture of you guys, you look so beautiful!!
Now I want to go on a cruise!

I hope I look as good as you do when I'm a great grandma. I would've never guessed!

tori: We did have a great time. Thanks.

chel: I was so amazed with Cabo. I think it would be a great place to go and spend some time. The ocean truly is beautiful.

I felt very selfish having Allan just to myself for a whole week ; )

You are too funny.

tori: Thanks for the congrats. Yeah, that Reptilia song is one we've heard here many times ; )

smellychelli: We enjoyed every minute of the trip.

It must have been so fun to see the whales like that when you lived in Oregon.

ashley: Yeah, the week did go way too fast, but such great memories.

annie: Thanks it was a lot of fun. Love your comment about boys being pretty.

magirk: It's good to be back. The trip was great.
I'm glad you think I'm aging gracefully ; )

alice wills gold: It's good to be back.

We're going to start studying Isaiah next week--it should be INTERESTING.

melissa: It will be interesting being great grandparents.

We had a great time, but it is always good to get back home. I'll get back down there sometime.

nancyface: Thanks--I still can't believe it ; )

I've missed you, too. I wish it had been easier to get on-line and stay in touch with everyone while we were gone.

I love the necklace, too.

I had a great time with my grandkids--wish they all had been there.

heidi: We had such a good time. Thanks for the congrats.

jess: I can't wait to wear the necklace.

You're so sweet--we did have a great time.

theresa: Can you believe it? I still can't

I'm loving the spring-like weather--of course, today it's snowing again, but just a little.

holly: Great to be back. Thanks---it will be a fun experience.

lauren: I think it will be fun to be a great grandma.

The time with Allan was wonderful--we made some great memories.

amber: It's been tough every day this week to get up--next week will be a whole lot easier. The first week is always toughest.

Great to be back.

tonya: It's great to be home--I missed you too.

Being a grandma has been an easy adjustment, the great grandma will be a little tougher, but I know it will be fun.

pj: Great to be back--enjoyed the warm weather so much.

Thanks for the congrats.

lucy: You are so right--I never had grandparents, so the idea of beng a great grandparent is just really weird.

whitney: It was a great vacation--cruising is great fun. You can just relax and relax and eat and eat ; )
I enjoyed all the time I had to read.
You are sweet--thanks.

utmommy: You can find some really good deals on cruises. We enjoy them so much.
