Gratitude for Freedom

On this election day, I have to express my appreciation for freedom. I am so grateful for the men and women who have sacrificed and continue to sacrifice so much so that I can enjoy this great gift.

I don't know what the future holds, all I know is I love my country (U.S.A.) I love Canada, too, but I was born in the U.S.A. and I am truly, in the words of that great song, "proud to be an American".

I will pray for our new President. (I may not be happy with the election result (as of this moment), but it looks like he is our President-elect, and he will be our President on January 20, 2009, and I think the country will need all of our prayers)

I am also grateful today for this young lady--Allan's daughter, Wendy. She is celebrating a birthday today. Isn't she gorgeous!!!

I'm grateful too, worried, but grateful.

Happy Birthday Wendy!

I am thankful for my freedoms, too. I'm sure many prayers will be sent the next 4 years. Thank goodness we don't elect a King, but rather a President.

We'll all be praying...

You're right. We're free to choose someone else in 4 years if things go the way I think they will.

Thanks for giving me something to be grateful for and to look forward to on this depressing night.

Thanks, Yvonne. Your blog is always a place of peace.
I am so sad with the outcome, but I too am so thankful for this country. We prayed for our new president last night and will continue to do so.

I am grateful for freedom as well. I am struggling (a little) with the new President-elect and am worried about what it will bring. Socialism is the last thing we need.
I agree with you, many prayers from the heart will need to be said and hopefully heard.

love ya!

Wendy is beautiful. Happy birthday to her!

All I have done is pray all along, that whoever wins will be inspired to help keep us a great nation. Things are what they are. Any president we have needs our support.

Yvonne, how about gratefulness for Prop 8 being defeated. I understand the sisters in California worked tiredlessly to get the word out and unfortunally a video is circulating on you-tube depicting LDS people in a negative light. the things that Satan puts in our way!!!
